Bethel United Methodist Church
Winston-Salem, North Carolina

The Bethel  family gathers for worship every Sunday at 11AM for a modernized, traditional worship
service featuring a blend of contemporary and traditional music (with a modern feel).
We also offer worship each Sunday morning at 9AM at Homestead Hills Retirement Community

There are weekly Bible Study groups to accommodate everyone’s schedule
Sunday morning at 9:45AM – Pastor David Smith leads this study of the Mission of the Church
Monday mornings at 11AM – Don and Joyce Long lead a Bible study based on the publication “The Upper Room”
Wednesday evening at 7PM – Pastor David Smith leads a Bible study in the sanctuary titled “Crazy Love”
Wednesday evening at 7PM – at the I-Hop in Clemmons – Amanda Smith leads the “Pricilla Shirer” Bible Study class.

Bethel features a new children’s program that is growing under the leadership of Pastor T.
The group is now about 35 and there is room for your kids. Already we’ve have had a youth
mission trip. Vacation Bible School is coming August 8-12, 2010

There is a youth service every Sunday morning at 11AM, and in months with five Sundays,
the youth are responsible for leading the adult worship service.

Bethel offers a wide range of youth activities on a year-round basis.

Bethel’s music program is growing and expanding. Our choir is up to 15 members and we are looking for
a guitar player and drummer to join the group. Our goal is to do more contemporary songs, and to add
a more contemporary feel to the traditional hymns that mean so much to so many.

We are blessed with an amazing piano player in Perry Sheppard and a
very talented Bob Kennedy who add so much to our worship experience.

Our groups aren’t afraid to venture way from Bethel, either. In the past year, our groups
have participated in revivals in Yadkinville and Germanton, in Christmas for the City
sponsored by Winston-Salem First, praise-a-thons at Pfafftown Baptist Church, and a
community gathering at Shattalon Church of Christ.

Bethel has become one of the lead organizations in the establishment and constructions of a
church, clinic, and orphanage in Uganda. There have already been several mission trips in this
direction, land is being purchased, and we are on our way to helping bring Christianity to the young people of Uganda.

We haven’t forgotten those at home either. Through the outreach of “House of Service”, Bethel is reaching
into neighborhoods of Winston-Salem to provide support to single mothers and their children.
There are homework help projects during the school year, and a variety of weekly activities off our
campus. Our youth program is reaching into those neighborhoods to bring the word of Christ!
